At-Home Worship Guide For Sunday, April 26

Updated: Apr 28

While we cannot gather face-to-face on Sunday, we can still worship together! Join us on Facebook at 10:45am for live welcome & announcements and to send in your prayer requests, then worship together at home using our regular order of worship, outlined below.

Welcome to Twin Oaks' remote service. Submit a virtual Connect Card here to let us know how we can be praying for you this week.

Gathering

Call to Worship:

Awake, O harp and lyre!

I will awake the dawn.

I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples,

I will sing praises to you among the nations.

For your steadfast love is as high as the heavens;

your faithfulness extends to the clouds.

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens.

Let your glory be over all the earth. (Psalm 57:8-11)

Prayer of Invocation:

Brightness of God's glory and exact image of God's person,

whom death could not conquer nor the tomb imprison,

as you have shared our frailty in human flesh,

help us to share your immortality in the Spirit.

Let no shadow of the grave terrify us

and no fear of darkness turn our hearts from you.

Reveal yourself to us this day and all our days,

as the first and the last, the living one,

our immortal Savior and Lord. Amen.

Songs of praise and adoration: For The Beauty Of The Earth & Beautiful

If possible, get your guitar out or pull up the piano bench (or go a Capella!) and sing these songs together! If not, follow & sing along with a YouTube lyric video!

Greeting Time:

Bless each other with “the peace of Christ be with you” and/or offer an embrace or a kind word to your family members. If you are following along from home by yourself, greet someone over text or Facebook Messenger!

Announcements:

Watch the video below to hear about this week's announcements, or listen in on the live-stream via Facebook!

Prayer:

Go around and give your prayer requests, then take turns praying or designate a leader to pray. After offering supplication and intercession, (that is, prayers for others and prayers asking for things) pray Our Father & the Fruits of the Spirit together.

Our Father, which art in heaven,

Hallowed be Thy Name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts

As we forgive our debtors.

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Holy Spirit, we pray your fruit would be in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

By our lives and through our prayers, may your kingdom come.
